To ‘reach’ means to succeed in having an effect on, to thrust out or extend in order to connect and communicate with. To ‘influence’ means having the power to affect the nature, development, or condition of; to modify a person’s course or ultimate destiny. Our vision is to build a multi-cultural local church that is contemporary and relevant with a Pentecostal emphasis that reaches our city with the gospel and has influence in every sphere of life in our community. Southcity has a strong emphasis on engaging and adding value to the local community through various effective and well-resourced programmes and projects. We have a high investment in children and youth programmes and a strong mid-week ‘small group’ culture. Our small groups are known as Connect Groups and cater to every affinity and age group from teenagers to the elderly. Our vision also includes having church services that have inspirational, practical and relevant messages, powerful altar-ministry, contemporary and vibrant music, great hospitality and a warm and friendly atmosphere. We have a strong emphasis on bible-based, Christ-centred preaching, uplifting praise and passionate worship. We will always endeavour to make sure that our décor is modern and excellent, our pastoral care sincere and caring, and our leadership visionary but also warm and friendly. “The Vision of Southcity remains a fire that burns brightly in us. We see it extending its boundaries across the city, reaching people from the northern and the southern corridors of Perth and the eastern and western extremities of our suburbs with the love of Christ. We see the church with an extensive network of well-resourced programmes and ministries that bring aid, hope and support to the needy and the poor in heart. We see the church add value to every strata of life in our communities. This is our vision....to reach and to influence.”
